General Information for Seat Reservation in respect of Kha Manipur College, Kakching
The location of Kha Manipur College, Kakching is in a Schedule Caste (SC) concentrated area. The college is surrounded by Schedule Tribe (ST) dominated villages of Chandel district and Tengnoupal district. It is also surrounded by OBC and Minority dominated towns and villages of Kakching district and Thoubal district.
The institution is, therefore, not in a position adopt Reserved Seat for SC/ST/OBC/Minority because of overloading of these students. The number of students of General (GEN) Category is also less because of limited number of these students in this area.
As per norms of the Govt. of Manipur, the seat reservations for ST/SC/OBC for admission in B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. 1st Semester in Govt. and Govt. Aided Colleges is–
i) 31% of ST students
ii) 2% of SC students and
iii) 17% of OBC students.
But this norm cannot be applied to our institution.
