Abstract:

Kha Manipur college, NCC Unit, kakching was inducted in the year 1970 with Late Professor M. Ibohal Singh as Caretaker Officer. After working one year as a Caretaker officer in NCC he went for 90 days Pre-commission course (PRCN) at OTA, Kamptee, Maharashtra in the year 1971 and got his commission to work as an Associate NCC officer of Kha Manipur College, NCC-Unit. Later on he had completed two more refreshers courses and promoted the rank of Major in Associate NCC officer and render his service in NCC for 27 years for long period of time till 1997. After 27 years serviced in NCC Maj. M. Ibohal Singh retired from NCC, Y. Raju Singh Assistant Professor in Commerce, took in-charge and became 2nd CTO of Kha Manipur College NCC. He served 3 years as CTO and went for PRCN at OTA, Kamptee, Maharashtra in the month of July to October, 2000 and got the commission in NCC. Lt. Y. Raju Singh served 22 years till 2019 for NCC and he rendered good service for the welfare of the cadets with great responsibility he guided the cadets for many social services. It was in the year of March, 2019 Dr. N. Sunderlal Singh Assistant professor in Physical education took in-charge as 3rd CTO from Lt. Y. Raju Singh. He served 3 years as caretaker officer (CTO) of NCC and completed his 90 days Pre-commission course (PRCN) at OTA, Kamptee, Maharashtra from 8th February to 7th may in the year 2021 and got his commission to work as an Associate NCC officer (ANO) of Kha Manipur College, NCC-Unit. Lt. Dr. N. Sunderlal Singh is the current Associate NCC officer (ANO) of Kha Manipur College, NCC-Unit under 14 Manipur Battalion NCC Imphal.

Kha Manipur College, NCC Unit:

Kha Manipur College, NCC Unit, Kakching was inducted in the year 1970 with Late Professor M. Ibohal Singh as Caretaker Officer. After working one year as a Caretaker officer in NCC, This college NCC unit is of Senior Division both for male and female i.e. SD and SW respectively. It comes under the 14 Manipur Battalion NCC Imphal which is one of the Battalion of NCC Group Headquarter, Manipur which have another two battalions 65 Manipur girl’s Battalion NCC and 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC. NCC Group Headquarter, Manipur come under the NCC directorate North Eastern Region which is one of the 17 NCC directorates of India.  The present day NCC came into existence on 16 Apr 1948, through XXXI Act of Parliament. NCC was formally inaugurated on 15 Jul 1948. The Girls Division of the NCC was raised in Jul 1949. On 01 Apr 1950, Air Wing was raised, with one Air Squadron each at Bombay and Kolkata. The Naval Wing of the NCC was raised in Jul 1952, thus completing the true representation of all services in the Corps. 

(Late) Major. M. Ibohal Singh:

Professor M. Ibohal Singh was the 1st Caretaker Officer of Kha Manipur College NCC. After working one year as a Caretaker officer in NCC he went for 90 days Pre-commission course (PRCN) at OTA, Kamptee, Maharashtra in the year 1971 and got his commission to work as an Associate NCC officer of Kha Manipur College, NCC-Unit. Major. M. Ibohal Singh is no more between us but his image of 1985 republic day as a parade commander will remain for life long.
Lt. Y. Raju Singh

After 27 years serviced in NCC Maj. M. Ibohal Singh retired from NCC, Y. Raju Singh Assistant Professor in Commerce, currently working as a HOD in department of Commerce took in-charge and became 2nd CTO of Kha Manipur College NCC. He served 3 years as CTO and went for PRCN at OTA, Kamptee, Maharashtra in the month of July to October, 2000 and got the commission in NCC.

Lt. Y. Raju Singh got his commission to work as an Associate NCC officer of Kha Manipur College, NCC-Unit in the year 2000. He served 22 years till 2019 for NCC and he rendered good service for the welfare of the cadets with great responsibility he guided the cadets for many social services.

Lt. Dr. N. Sunderlal Singh

It was in the year of March, 2019 Dr. N. Sunderlal Singh Assistant professor in Physical education took in-charge as 3rd CTO from Lt. Y. Raju Singh. He served 3 years as caretaker officer (CTO) of NCC and completed his 90 days Pre-commission course (PRCN) at OTA, Kamptee, Maharastra from 8th February to 7th may in the year 2021 and got his commission to work as an Associate NCC officer (ANO) of Kha Manipur College, NCC-Unit.

Lt. Dr. N. Sunderlal Singh is the current Associate NCC officer (ANO) of Kha Manipur College, NCC-Unit under 14 Manipur Battalion NCC Imphal.

Brief activities of Kha Manipur College, NCC highlighted:

The origin of the Education department of Manipur dates back to 1903 when Rev. Pattigrew an educationist and a philanthropist became the first honorary inspector of schools under the education department of Assam. Prior to 1950 there was no separate department of education in Manipur. NCC is an organisation which should attached along with education in School and Colleges. In Manipur NCC started in Colleges in the year 1959, for Kha Manipur College, NCC was inducted in the year 1970.

The total strength of KMC-NCC unit is 89 cadets; SD- 51 cadets and SW- 38 cadets. Presently in this year 2022 there are 25 first year cadets; SD- 16 cadets, SW-9 cadets. Second year there are 37 cadets; SD-20 cadets, SW-17 cadets and 27 third year cadets; SD-15 cadets, SW-12 cadets. Cadets were voluntarily enrolled; we trained our cadets to volunteer in every requirement of our Kha Manipur College and with commitment and positive ways outlook to serve the society and nation.
