Welcome to Kha Manipur College

Kha Manipur College, Kakching was established on the 27^th July, 1966 under the sacrificing initiatives undertaken by the then local educationists and social minded elders. It had been a college where 10+2 level of education was imparted in those days. The physical and mental support of the public and donations in kind or cash enabled the college serve as a Higher Educational Institution (HEI) for the Southern Part of Valley of Manipur and the Tengnoupal and Chandel Areas. It is situated at 24⁰30′ and 39.8″ N Latitude and 93⁰58′ & 10.9″ E Longitude at C.S. Dag No. 2005 under patta No. 56 (old) 454 (new) of 62 Kakching Wairi. It is the only Government College in Kakching District of Manipur. The college was initially affiliated to Guwahati University, Assam as a Private College in 1966 and now is affiliated to Manipur University from 1980. It has been granted permanent affiliation and included under 2 (f) and 12 (B) Sections of University Grants Commission (UGC). Located at Panjao Pallum Kakching Wairi at a distance of 45 km. from the state capital Imphal, the college has a very peaceful campus of an area measuring 25 acres of land. To the north, there are the campuses of Padma Ratna English School, Kakching and ITI, Kakching. To the south are the Sekmai River and the historically important hillock of Machin-Manao where the great Manipuri fighter/warrior Wangkhei Meiraba lay down his life during the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891. To the east is Kakching Municipal Area and to the west is the Sekmai Barrage. The surrounding natural beauty and tranquillity of the campus provide a proper site for congenial academic atmosphere. The college became afull-fledged Government college on the 4th  September, 1978 vide order No. 1/3/78-SE and the college as one of the biggest colleges in Manipur, has been playing a vital role in the development of higher education in the state. It is a co-educational Institution with English as the medium of instruction with the exception of Manipuri subject. The college has been producing some first-ten toppers in the final (6th Semester) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Examination conducted by Manipur University from time to time. Such students [3] and other distinguished students in extracurricular activities are honoured and conferred Incentive Cash Awards along with citations on every College Foundation Day, that is, the 27^th July. 

At present, the college is meant for 12+3 level education (three year degree course) with three streams of Arts, Science and Commerce and offers Honours in Manipuri, English, Education, Economics, History, Political Science, Mathematics, Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology and Commerce. The B.Voc. Degree Programme under UGC in (i) Food Processing and Engineering and (ii) Tourism and Hospitality Management has been running since 2014-15. From July 2017, the Diploma in IT & ITES has been opened at the college. As per NAAC Executive Council Meeting held on 16th December 2016, the college is accredited with B Grade in its Cycle I & II Accreditation.
